Featured Designer: GritFX T-Shirts
Hello TTG readers! It’s been a few weeks since we had a featured designer here at the Gazette, but we’re back with a new feature this week, once again one that I have been real eager to post about – GritFX T-Shirts! If you are not familiar with their designs, I urge you to check out all that they have to offer! There is something on their site for everyone.
Where do I even start? There is so much to cover here in this one feature. The entire GritFX umbrella consists of a crew of five Aussies (I think they’re all from Australia), but the face behind the brand is really Amanda (Manz). Here’s a little background on GritFX to get your more acquainted with the gang:
GritFX T-Shirts was founded in 2008 by Australian designers Amanda (Manz) and Dave. They quickly recruited a few writers and formed a blog that is now a full-blown online magazine. It was Manz and Dave’s mission to not only create a platform for their own work, but the work of their friends and other artists on the net. People that were as unknown as themselves. Because it’s easy to get lost in the weird wide world.
The team at GritFX T-Shirts create t-shirts and pen articles on the subjects that interest them. Manz is the senior designer, and her hand touches every GritFX t-shirt creation. Dave not only creates artwork, he writes for the Magazine under the pen names Wadrick Jones and Max Drake (don’t ask why – he’s a bit loopy). Writers Decoy Spoon and Adam Fay are both published freelancers and friends of Manz and Dave who contribute solely to the Magazine. Aussie artist Matt Dunn has just joined the GritFX Magazine to discuss comics and other related subjects.
So, as you can see, GritFX isn’t just funny t-shirts. It consists of t-shirts, a blog, and an online magazine – all rolled into one! Where do they find the time? One doesn’t know.
I have to admit, I have a soft spot for GritFX, and writing this feature is easy for me. Manz is one of the first people I “met” in my quest to tackle social networking through Twitter, and she’s been a great friend, mentor, and support system for my business since the get-go. Anyone that comes in contact with Manz can tell you she’ll go out of her way to help a peer out in any way that she can. However, this post isn’t supposed to be a toast to Manz, although she might like that….but let’s showcase one of their designs, shall we?
I don’t know about the rest of you, but this guy creeps me out! He’s just one of the cast of characters you can find when you visit the official site of GritFX. Featured above is the WINCHESTER tee, which comes in ladies and mens sizes. Head on over to their site to order this shirt in your choice of size, color, and brand.
You can find GritFX all over the web, not just via their store. Here are some of their other haunts:
- Official Site
- GritFX T-Shirts Magazine
- GritFX on Twitter
- GritFX on Facebook (be sure to “LIKE” them!)
- GritFX YouTube Channel (work in progress, so check back often!)
- GritFX MySpace Page
- GritFX Royalty Free Photography Library (free photo backgrounds for personal and commercial use)
There is no shortage of GritFX on the internet, so be sure to check out the above links and become part of their family! You won’t be disappointed!!
Here are just a few of their other designs:
This doesn’t scratch the surface of all they offer on their official site, so head on over there and pick out a few t-shirts for yourself and your friends. Don’t forget to check out their “LOST” designs while you’re there. GritFX definitely cornered the market for “LOST” designs online!
Big thanks goes out to GritFX for letting us feature them this week on the Tee Gazette! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
