TTG Featured Brand – Alex Eaves & Stay Vocal
This week on TTG, we’re going to be featuring a brand that couldn’t GET any closer to me as far as location is concerned. We grew up only a few miles away from each other, and in fact, know a few of the same people. Small world. Who is it you say? None other than Alex Eaves with Stay Vocal. I hope through this feature you will get to know this brand a little better and understand why they’re doing what they’re doing. Here goes!
STAY VOCAL is a Green America certified ReUse apparel company. We rescue t-shirts and give them a second life.
About half of our apparel line is made from brand new t-shirts that were going to be destroyed. The other half of our apparel is found at thrift stores and through donations, allowing us to offer more unique items to our customers.
Our reusing doesn’t stop with the shirts that we sell. We reuse in any step that we can. Our orders are printed on the back of would be recycled paper, shipped in used packaging (mainly cereal boxes), with labels printed on scrap paper. Even our business cards are printed on used t-shirts and then cut out.
I know that there are ALOT of businesses out there trying to “go green” each and every day, but clearly Stay Vocal has got this down pat. From start to finish, most of all they do is made with recycled materials, pretty cool concept. I haven’t ordered anything YET from Stay Vocal, but I imagine it has to be pretty cool to receive an order from them just to see how things are packaged.
Anyone who knows Alex (including himself) can tell you that his world revolves around reusing existing resources. From his USA made Chuck Taylors, used jeans and Stay Vocal tees to his travel mug filled with coffee that he is never without, to the recycled bags that he uses to purchase groceries with, he lives and breathes his message.
Alex has led a pretty fun life, touring with bands, selling tour and anti-racism merchandise and meeting some pretty cool people along the way, all in the name of t-shirts. His story is so complex and rather than leaving ANY of it out, or messing up the timeline, I want to leave you with this link: HERE that you can check out to see how he went from the boy next door to the kid living out his dreams touring with some of his favorite bands. It all came full circle again when he started Stay Vocal. He still spends most of his time on the west coast, but his Stay Vocal HQ is back here in the suburbs of Massachusetts.
With that said, it’s now time to check out one of his great designs, this one is called ReUse Cereal and you can pick it up in the Stay Vocal shop for just $15.00. There will only be 311 made (an ode to one of his favorite bands, by the way) so be sure to grab one while you still can.
This is the STAY VOCAL ReUse Cereal T-Shirt featuring the artwork of Christian Bogle. The design is printed on the reverse side of brand new t-shirts that were originally set to be destroyed.
This first printing of the design is “cocoa cereal” inspired, as it will be printed with brown ink. The milk in the design is of course white.
This is a limited printing, as there will only be 311 total shirts available and there is a 3 shirt per customer limit.
The shirt will be specially packaged in a used cereal box with a cereal themed mailing label, designed by Emile Goss. And there will even be a reused plastic bag to seal in the freshness of the shirt.
And ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes, there will be a reuse prize inside! And let us just say that the prizes are AMAZING! Prizes include cds, dvds, plush toys, band merchandise, homemade handkerchiefs, jewelry, and even dog collars.
You can find out all about the prizes by heading over to THIS LINK.
Here’s the part you love….OH WAIT, that’s not all! Alex has graciously offered 20% off his ReUse Cereal shirt for all TTG readers. Simply use the code “cerealspill” at checkout to safe. Thanks, Alex!
