TTG Artist Spotlight: Malc Foy on Redbubble
Here we are pleasured to feature Malc Foy; he has lots of work over on Redbubble on his Redbubble store. You may also recognise his work from the Droid Army Crew. Malc tells us a little more about himself, and how he is involved in the t-shirt game.
I’m full time as a Crime scene examiner so only really get time to create outwith work and then I have to avoid getting complaints from the missus about being on the laptop too much (tho apparently me complaining about her watching Misomer Murders constantly is ‘not the same’) I use illustrator and a smudge of photoshop to bust out my designs though I admit to being a bit of a noob on both but learning as I go.
For inspiration it’s fairly random. Like my Android/R2D2 Design. That’s came about after seeing one of those ‘Yo Dawg’ meme photos on a forum. Other than designs I do a bit of photography (though a bit less than normal the past few months) and post images via my flickr account.
“I only really got into the t-shirt game at the end of last year when I was mucking about on the laptop and created my first proper design..” – Malc Foy
IJN Alternate
“I’d really like that design to be full size print – sleeves, the lot – but I don’t think there is a submission accepting company that would print it as such.” – IJN Alternate
“Anyway, I threw that (plus a couple of older drawing I had lying around) on Redbubble and eventually got my first sale. after that I was hooked. I have a good few Star Wars based designs but I like to think they are unique views of the SW universe.” -Malc
Here are a few of my favourite designs by Malc from his Redbubble Store:
Han Pixolo V Stormie
Pixolo – see what I did there? (Pixolo-Pix olo- Pic Solo) No?

Terminator 2
A t-shirt version of the Terminator 2 minimal styled movie poster I created.

The Amazing Spunishderman
Spiderman/Punisher logo mashup. Thought of it when I saw the pictures for the new “venom” Was a bit surprised, actually, when I saw that it hadn’t been done before!
I decided to base it on the two recent movie versions of the superheroes – thought I can’t ever imagine what a mashup between Tobey Maguire and Thomas Jane would look like.

Flight of the Conchords Silly-ettes
All of the FOTC “silly-ettes” on one t-shirt. For all you part time models out there.

The Discovery
“This was an image I made for my mate to use as cover art for a track he made on his PC and now it is time to see it work on a T-shirt. The image is the combination of an “object” I created on Cinema 4D (aaages ago) and a photo of my hands. Put the two together and you’ve got a decent design to suggest a new “Discovery” (which was the title of my mates track).”
