Artist Spotlight: Glen O’Neill
Glen O’Neill is just a big geeky artist. The end.
I kid, I kid. We wanted to feature Glen this morning on TTG, he’s had some great success with some of his designs on Threadless, RIPT and Qwertee. As I told Glen, I’m going against everything I believe to showcase him today. He’s from Vancouver and I’m from Boston. If you’re following sports right now, you’ll know that we’re going head to head tonight in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
I’ll put all of that aside and feature him today, all for the love of t-shirts!
Here’s some info on Glen, in his own words:
Hey! I’m Glen. I’m a 26 year old illustrator and huge geek in most respective aspects. I live in Victoria with my wonderful wife and our little baby Penelope. I work at The Martlet as the Production Co-Ordinator, which is pretty awesome because I get to do pretty much whatever I want. In my spare time I design T-Shirts and draw comics.
Here’s my origin story. I’m originally from Vancouver, but so is everyone else who lives in Victoria. I’ve been drawing since I could hold a crayon and making comics on a computer since Photoshop 6. I went Mac 6 years ago and have never looked back. My early education was mostly 8-bit and Nintendo-Based but I am pretty sure I’ve owned every gaming system since the NES. Except a Virtual Boy. I wish I owned a Virtual Boy. That sounds weird. Anyways.
As far as me as a human being, I am a LVL 7 Multi-Class nerd. Star Wars is my Major, with a minor in Marvel Universe, Final Fantasy and Godzilla Movies (Gamera and Ultraman Included). I like all kinds of music, except Top 40 country and I can touch my nose with my tongue.
I hope you like my art and if you want to see more go to be a fan on Facebook or follow me on Twitter .
Let’s jump into some of his designs:
My Face, Your Chest
Dressed To Kill
Hairy Potter
