Today we kick off Day1 of the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway, we start of with our first interview of the day with Rob Wood of The Shirtist Network. Many of you will probably more know Rob under his name of Cu3ik and his association with artist groups such as The RBC. Here we discuss who he is, his affiliations and what was the worst Xmas present he got when growing up.

What are the shirtistnetwork and Cubik most famous for? How best would you describe your work in one sentence?

I’m not sure either ‘cubik’ or The Shirtist Network are famous for anything yet; though one day maybe.

For those that don’t know me, ‘cû3ik‘ is me (my brand) and The Shirtist Network is something I’m building for the t-shirt community, to provide help and advice, articles and tutorials and extra promotional opportunities for designers at any level (phase 1 launching soon hopefully).

My work in one sentence would probably be a short one… ‘multi-dimensional design‘, in the sense that I love producing pop-culture mash-up designs.

Being in the movie category for this giveaway. What is your favorite Xmas movie? and favorite movie of all time?

Without a doubt, my favourite Christmas movie has to be ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’. Of all time, is still the awesome AKIRA.

Is there a design which is the most successful out of your collection on Redbubble?

Far and beyond any other of my designs is ‘Doctor Pooh’. That was my debut design on any of the ODP sites, and also a record breaker at the time. It ha since been printed at two other sites and is still selling at RedBubble and my newer UK based store at http://cubikdesigns.shirtistnetwork.com.

Are their any upcoming prints you have being printed in 2012?

I have two prints coming up at relative newcomer ShirtPunch. ‘Guns ‘n’ Portals’ and ‘Frak to the Future’. I think you can guess the elements for those designs.

If you could win any t-shirt from the other brands in our giveaway which would you most like to win?

There are so many! How could you ask some one with a deep love of the-tee to choose just one?

Who out of your twitter social networking circle of friends would you recommend our readers to follow?

Again, that’s really difficult, but if I REALLY REALLY had to pick just one, I think I’d have to say @Billy_Allison. He does all sorts as well as provide a huge amount of advice and mentoring. I’ve learned a great deal from Billy. Thanks mate!

If you’ve not seen it yet, have a look at his Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy print on Society6. I was lucky enough to see this as a WiP and knew at that point I had to have a copy.

I couldn’t leave this question without making a group mention to The RBC and RBA. An amazing bunch, and it’s a rare occasion when one or more hasn’t got a print live.

What was your worst Xmas present you got when growing up? Did you have a particular bad present?

Underwear! Even as a kid. Not novelty socks, just plain old every day socks (and boxers). But then, the Lego kits and Casio digital watches easily made up for that.

Terrific Interview!… sadly I have to admit that I gave my older brother plain old everyday socks. It’s the parents fault as they’re the ones to suggest it!
