The Stig is a mysterous character is his own right on popular show ‘Top Gear.’ But Blayde simply uses this as an alias online, hes happy to let his designs do the talking. In this interview he opens up to what his favourite designs are, where we may have seen his work before & let’s not all be too materialistic this Xmas.

Who is Blayde? And why so mysterious with your Stig like profile picture?

I’m a huge Top Gear fan, so naturally I made a vector of probably the most famous character. I’m sort of old school with my information, It’s not on the web, I use Facebook as an alias and Twitter as well, I’m just comfortable being me with this name. I can say I live in a nice little country called Bahrain, and that I’m an aircraft mechanic by trade, but that’s all you’ll get out of me!

What does a Blayde t-shirt design usually consist of? What is your best design to date do you think?

My designs are usually quite literal and to the point, I make designs on what I like and since what I like is quite geeky, it all works out. Most of my designs are simple, I’m no trained artist but I taught myself the basics and I went from there. My best design has to be Droidberg, it’s been one of the most popular designs not only as a shirt, but as a meme as well, everyone I know who’s bought one has received compliments about it, that simple design being so far reaching would make it my best.

Where may we have seen your t-shirt designs before?

I’ve been on TeeFury and OtherTees so far, also did a comission for AndroidSwag. This month and next I will be on a few more.

What do you have coming ahead in 2012 for your work?

At the moment I cannot say, I’m a shirt designer because I can and I love doing it, but this isn’t my primary career, I love making designs so you never know what’s for the future. I have a few ideas and prints upcoming, but I take it one day at a time, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Who are your favourite people and brands to follow on twitter?

Definitely Jimmy Carr, one of the funniest people on the planet, and also the artists who helped me and are still helping me make and share designs.

If you yourself could win one of the 12 days which would you want to win?

Movies or Geek for sure.

What is the best Xmas present you could imagine winning this year?

Hm, I don’t celebrate Xmas, so that’s a toughie. Materialistically, a new gaming PC, but I’d gladly take art classes to help improve my drawing.
