Todays first interview to kick off day nine of the 12 days Giveaway is none other than Kill Hubris, I rock their sexy typography logo tee most weeks around town. So its safe to say i’m a fan of the brand, here we introduce you more to them. We discuss; a little greek for hubris, exciting news for 2012, top 5 people they say we should follow on twitter & that they really really want a performance from James Brown for Xmas?

Is Kill Hubris all about violent designs? How would you best describe your mantra to those who may not have come across the brand before?

Not at all. “Hubris” is Greek for “excessive arrogance” so killing it is actually a positive thing. We believe that arrogance is overcome by virtues like selflessness, love, patience, compassion, courtesy, and humility, so those values are what inspire us.

Our mantra is “Hubris is played. Lead by example.”

Still a fairly new brand to the online t-shirt world, what pieces of advice can you offer to new brands?

Our best tool so far for getting our name out there has been Twitter. But you definitely have to use it wisely. Begging for RTs, followers, and spamming everyone non-stop will most likely get you ignored. Just be real, connect with a few people, talk about stuff other than your brand, and the support will come from those who see you as a real person and feel what you’re up to.

What exciting news for 2012 and beyond can you share with our readers?

We have a new collection in the works that we plan to reveal in 2012. Probably as a sub-label of KH. We’re working with one of our favorite local artists right now on that initial release.

Do you have a favourite design you’ve produced? Which has been the more popular?

Sam: My current favorite is Three, the KH elephant mascot.

Nathan: Mine is One, our logo.

The best-selling design has been Four, our take on the old proverb See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil.

If you could win a t-shirt from a fellow brand in this giveaway, who would it be?

Definitely Studious. All 4 of Bobby’s launch designs are well thought-out and executed.
