Can you tell us what GritFX are all about, and what t-shirts have been your most successful this past year?

GritFX T-Shirts was born in 2008 by Dave and myself. We both always loved great t-shirt designs and thought we might give it a go ourselves. The only logical avenue for us to follow, as far as designs go, were the things that interested us. Movies, music, madness. The GritFX team is basically a group of friends and extended friends (some of us have known each other since high school) who work in artistic fields (graphic design, copywriting etc) but didn’t have an outlet for certain things we wished to pursue. GritFX T-Shirts and the GritFX Magazine was the solution to that.

As for which t-shirts have been the most successful during 2011, our movie and TV inspired collections tend to be the most popular with “We’re Going to The Winchester“, “Morrie’s Wig Shop“, and the Fringe-inspired tee “Walter’s Strawberry Milkshakes” being our best sellers for the year.

Is there a design you are most proud of that you created?

During 2011 we explored the realm of design challenges and I was very proud of the entry submitted for the OPS design challenge on Threadless. It is a cause close to our hearts and given the great response we received from our fans & followers, it would be amazing to do a limited print run one day and donate the profits to the cause!

When I look towards the 3 collections we currently offer, “Caretaker Wanted” is a design I never fail to feel pride about. I love the copywriting by Dave, and I think our intent to create a graphic reminiscent of aged, retro adverts was achieved.

What does 2012 have in store for you as a brand? Any secrets or sneak peaks you can share with our readers?

Aside from wanting to continually grow our current collections, GritFX are working on a new range. I can’t say too much, but can tell you that where most of our current designs rely heavily on the combination of image & copy, the new range will be a departure from that. Here’s a little tease for you…

Who in our giveaway would you most like to win a t-shirt from?

I love various types of tees and the talent is so great that I could easily find a tee I’d love from each and every brand involved! In fact, I already own tees from several great brands including Saucewear and Winky Boo. If I have to lock down a few for this question, some of the first that come to mind are “Key to Life” by Labyrinth – ancient history fascinates me; “Bill Murray is My Father” by DPCTED – they’re doing great text/quote designs and that one is so bizarre I can’t help but chuckle!; and “Journey” by Invisible Sun – great retro style and combination of graphic & typography.

What members of your twitter circle of friends would you recommend we should all go follow?

Tough question and depends on what you’re interested in.

I’ll give you 6…

First up, @TeeGazette! If it’s not already obvious the account is great for keeping up to date with t-shirt news and tee offers. Also check out @GWPStudio – Greg shares amazing photography (his own and by others) along with information/sources regarding causes and charities; @ilovethezodiak – sharing interesting science & freaky/weird stuff; @matt_kay – a movie nut who shares up-to-date film news along with his own comic-themed blog posts; @danperezfilms – Dan has a mix of cool tweets which include film, rock-n-roll, and charities; and my 6th recommendation would be @designjuices – a great account for all kinds of design inspiration.

What was your best and worst Xmas present?

Worst: Santa brought me a hobby horse when I asked for a real one.
Best: Returning home from holidays concerned that my newly adopted cat may have run away, only to instead be greeted by purrs and kisses!
