Before I even created The Tee Gazette, I had always wanted to do something along the lines of what I’m announcing today. I’ve been a part of the indie t-shirt industry now for a few years, via both my own indie brand (saucewear) and TTG, and I must admit, it’s an amazing community. However…. we’re missing something. A way for us to get together, network, shake hands, get to know each other, and share ideas.

Well, I’ve finally put the wheels into motion and I’m annoucing today, the first annual Boston Tee Party, slated to happen this summer in Boston, MA. I’m opening this event up to designers, artists, and indie brands from around the world, and I hope you are as excited about this event as I am. The Boston Tee Party will be co-hosted by Amy Fiedler of WinkyBoo!

As I am still hammering out ideas, I don’t have too many details to share, but I can tell you that there will be a speaker from the industry on hand to offer some advice (once it’s confirmed, I will announce it), there will also be a social media expert speaking to offer advice on the social aspect of running a business. I believe we can all use help with this aspect of growing a successful business.

Along with the two speakers, there will also be a great local band entertaining us, Kingston 530, who have just released their first CD. By the way…..they’re looking for sponsorship, so this will be a great opportunity for some local brands to meet the band and forge a great, lasting relationship!

The event will then be transformed into a trade show! There will be tables set up for indie brands to sell their designs with not only other indie brands, but also the public. That’s right, I want to bring in people from outside of the industry to check out your brands and your designs. There will also be tables available for other designers, local screen printers and web/graphic designers. I want this to be a great networking opportunity for all involved.

Pricing is still being hammered out, but there will be tiers set up:

  • Brands/Vendors who attend the event ANDĀ set up a table = $;
  • Brands/Vendors who attend the event but do NOT set up a table = $;
  • Public who attend theĀ entire event = $;
  • Public who attend only the shopping event after the speakers = $;

As soon as prices are determined, we’ll be posting them here!
There will be a cash bar and appetizers available during the second part of the event. We also plan on doing a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. A percentage of the proceeds from both will go to a local charity, to be named at a later date. Not only do I want to create a great event to get exposure out to indie brands, but I want us all to give back in the form of charity.
