I’m very excited to share with you who our second speaker of the day will be at the Boston Tee Party! I hope that you will be as excited about this speaker as I am. Jonathan Kay is COO and one of the founders of Apptopia (http://www.apptopia.com).

Jonathan will be speaking to us about creating brand loyalty, which I think will be more than beneficial for all in attendance, even if you are NOT a t-shirt owner. If you own a business of ANY kind, this information will be valuable to you.

What’s brand loyalty? Going that extra step to connect to the customer. Hand written notes, customer engagement and scalable intimacy. These are all things to push your brand to that next level, keeping you from being “just another t-shirt brand”.

We are getting Jonathan on what I personally think is the cusp of his jump into greatness. I’ve only spoken to Jonathan via email a few times, and already I can see that he’s a genuine person who has some great things ahead of him.

Jonathan runs the daily operations and strategic direction at his venture, Apptopia. Based in Boston, Apptopia is a marketplace designed to help broker the sale of mobile apps. Don’t think of Apptopia as a mobile app store, they’re selling ownership, revenues, users, code, etc! These are apps that people have given their blood, sweat and tears for and for one reason or another, feel as though they need to sell their creation to someone who can give it the attention it needs.

Jonathan originally made a name for himself in the startup community as the Ambassador of Buzz at Grasshopper, a company that provides Virtual Phone Systems for entrepreneurs.  He created their “Buzz Department” from the ground up and was responsible for over 600 press mentions and a handful of big partnerships over his 3 years there. Jonathan is also the author behind Learn2Buzz, and a co-founder of the Barcamp Tour.

When he’s not working hard at Apptopia, he can usually be found watching the Boston Celtics, the New York Giants or the Boston Red Sox. Two of those things belong together, and one of those things just isn’t the same…. hmmmmm… New York? Really, Jonathan? You’ll have to explain that one on August 11th!
